Each kit contains the OsmoWeld® system, the proven 2-part epoxy system for timber bridge repair. Epoxy resins have demonstrated remarkable characteristics of strength and adhesion, which are finding ever-increasing uses in industry. The OsmoWeld® system is a specially designed compound which, when cured, is stronger than wood and can be sawn, drilled, sanded and painted.

The most common and major uses employed by railroads to date include:

Posting (splicing) piling.
Shimming to improve load-bearing characteristics.
Filling voids, checks, cracks, splits, and repairing mechanical damage.

COP-R-PLASTIC II preservative is formulated to help extend the life of timber piling, caps and stringers. This product is especially useful for treating field cuts during new construction or repair restoration.

Combining COP-R-PLASTIC preservative with our OsmoShield wrap polyethylene wrap will help arrest groundline decay and help prevent its re-establishment.

OsmoShield wrap acts as a moisture barrier to help prevent COP-R-PLASTIC preservative from leaching into the surrounding soil. Together, COP-R-PLASTIC preservative and OsmoShield wrap effectively extend piling life by helping to prevent timber decay.
